Dr. Sy is glad to return home to Orange County to begin his practice. At UCI Medical Center he was honored to be selected as "Chief Resident" to oversee newer residents' training. Prior to joining Bristol Park, Dr. Sy also completed a three year fellowship in Gastroenterology.
Originally, Dr. Sy thought he would follow his "family of scientists" into a laboratory research field, but after working in a lab for a while, he found that clinical work involving patient contact better suited him. "I chose Gastroenterology because I enjoy the opportunity to perform procedures and still get to know my patients over a period of time. I know it sounds cliche, but I really do enjoy caring for patients. I like to see people get better!"
Dr. Sy has given his time and skills on numerous occasions including serving as a New Orleans Hurricane Katrina post hurricane Relief Volunteer. In addition to volunteering, he likes to play and/or watch basketball and tennis, and spend time with family, friends, and his dog, Milo.
